Total Distance, 19.3km (12 miles) - Total Ascent, 1228m (4028ft) - Time Taken, 7hrs 30mins - Date, 18/10/09 - Weather, Cloud, Sunshine, light wind, 16°c Summits - Cold Pike, Crinkle Crags, Bowfell, Rossett Pike The main aim for today was to climb Crinkle Crags, something I've wanted to do for some time. Parking at the National Trust car park at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, we walked across the fields to Stool End. Following Oxendale Beck, then Browney Gill to Red Tarn before turn to climb to the summit of Cold Pike. Leaving Cold Pike the weather closes in and we walk in cloud, over the first Crinkle and on to The Bad Step. Too much for Diva so we follow the path round to the summit and on to the remaining Crinkles. Down to Three Tarn then climb to the summit of Bowfell, as we stand on the summit the cloud lifts and the sun shines through rewarding us with great views. From Bowfell we head down to Angle Tarn, then on to Rossett before following the path down Rossett Gill back to the car park.
