Route Map

The day was booked, the forecast was good and I’d planned Skiddaw for a couple of weeks after years of looking from afar. Then on Thursday the forecast changed, heavy rain, sleet and gale force winds reaching 60mph. I decided to catch up with some of the lower fells thus giving me the option to run for cover. However from the summit of Latrigg Skiddaw looked alluring. The forecast was proved correct the wind was the worst I’ve ever experienced and the low cloud obscured the views, Skiddaw summit reached but I know a second trip beckons.
