What a difference to last Friday, clear skies and sunshine, although it was cold on the exposed ridges. Parking at Grasmere I followed the Easedale Road to take the path up Helm Crag, and then followed the ridge route to Calf Crag via Gibson Knott. Following the old boundary posts to circle the head of Greenburn Bottom to Steel Fell, from here I could see the dark clouds forming over Blencathra which had been forecast. Stopping on Cotra Breast for lunch and to enjoy the early afternoon sun, then back down to Grasmere.
