Route Map

An early start to get to the Lakes for 8am, the road from Grasmere to Thirlmere was still covered in snow making for interesting driving. The car park at Swirls was blocked with snow so a few of us parked on the road; we left the cars together to break the trail via Browncove Crags to the summit.
It was hard going at time in the snow but what a reward, virgin snow and blue skies. From the summit we could see the whole of Lakeland, a place to stay and enjoy the views.
