Welcome to my website. I created this site to record my personal attempt to climb all of the 214 Lakeland fells featured in Alfred Wainwright’s pictorial guides. Each fell will be added to the site as they are completed, giving details of the route taken. In addition to the fells of The Lake District, I’ve included walks not covered by the guides as well as a little about my family.

Steel Fell - 05/03/10
What a difference to last Friday, clear skies and sunshine, although it was cold on the exposed ridges. Parking at Grasmere I followed the Easedale Road to take the path up Helm Crag, and then followed the ridge route to Calf Crag via Gibson Knott.
Our first full day back in The Lakes for some time - Place Fell today. Parking at The Patterdale hotel we crossed the fields to Side Farm and took the path to Boredale Hause, after a quick break we leave Boredale Hause and head towards place Fell summit.
An early start to get to the Lakes for 8am, the road from Grasmere to Thirlmere was still covered in snow making for interesting driving. The car park at Swirls was blocked with snow so a few of us parked on the road; we left the cars together to break the trail via Browncove Crags to the summit.
Following the weather forecast, today was a day to fill in some of the gaps and complete those fells left out of other walks. Not a day for photographs, by mid afternoon everything was wet! Diva was cold, time for the shops of Bowness and Ambleside before hitting the bunkhouse and the pub.
