The Wainwright Fells.

Welcome to my website. I created this site to record my personal attempt to climb all of the 214 Lakeland fells featured in Alfred Wainwright’s pictorial guides. Each fell will be added to the site as they are completed, giving details of the route taken. In addition to the fells of The Lake District, I’ve included walks not covered by the guides as well as a little about our family.

3 Peaks

The Yorkshire dale 3 Peaks Challenge, organised by Emily's school. We left the Pen-y-Ghent Cafe in Horton in Ribblesdale at 7am heading for Pen-y-Ghent, on the same day as the British Hart Foundation's event. As a result the route was busy, but we still did it in under 12 hours.

Fairfield

Fairfield in more detail.

Another get together of family and friends at Sykeside. Late night in the pub, followed by a walk from the site up to Fairfield. After 20 years of hearing about the Priest's Hole on Dove Crag, we made our way to the cave.

Scafell Pike - 30/05/09

Scafell Pike

Four days of unbroken sunshine, camping at Santon Bridge (Wasdale). On Saturday we climbed Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head, following Lingmell Gill to Hollow Stones. Gusty winds at Hollow Stones we decided to avoid Mickledore and take the pedestrian route to the summit. After lunch on the summit we head back and across to Lingmell, before descending back down to Wasdale around Goat Crags and a well earned pint at The Bridge Inn at Santon Bridge.
